Ham Menus

Hamburger menus. I know nothing in Web Dev is mandatory; but must
Hamburger menus look like Hamburgers or otherwise will it confuse users ?

The icon itself (3 horizontal lines) often confuse users…

So, no, you don’t have to use it. Best thing to do: use a text string, such as “menu” or “navigation”.

I'll think of something that is obviously, then again as you mention;
text is the best solution. 😄

We usually do both. The word 'menu' under the 3 lines. I believe the three
lines has become well known. It's on the app I'm typing in as a matter of
fact  (without text) however I'd rather be safe and add a text 'label' to
the three lines. But it's certainly not mandatory. I've been seeing a lot
of responsive horizontal scrolling nav without any need for icon
representation.

I don't follow ?
Why have a ham menu for a site that isn't responsive as the one you
linked too ?

Well, the site is responsive, but I guess you mean that the menu is
always a hamburger. That's a very difficult question to answer for
obvious reasons :-)

However, perhaps this will hurt your brain less:
